afterstep-dbg software package provides detached debugging symbols for AfterStep and its libraries, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install afterstep-dbg
afterstep-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the afterstep-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep afterstep-dbg *
You will get with afterstep-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
